Privacy policy
Dean Wahle operates Cart Otter. For privacy questions or requests, contact dhwahle@gmail.com.
What we collect
We collect your account email, public creator name, authentication information, published game details, uploaded files, and library entries. Creator declarations include your legal name, account email, accepted declaration and terms versions and text, timestamp, and the file’s fingerprint. Reports include the contact details and statements you provide.
What is public
Your creator name, published game descriptions, cover images, compatibility information, and downloadable games are shared according to your listing settings. Your legal signature, account email, library history, and private reports are not shown publicly.
Service providers
Supabase provides authentication, database, and file storage; Vercel hosts the site. These providers process data to operate the service and under their own applicable terms and privacy policies.
If you choose GitHub sign-in, GitHub and Supabase exchange the profile and email information needed to authenticate your account. Cart Otter does not request access to your repositories.
If you choose Google sign-in, Google and Supabase exchange your account identifier, name, profile information, and email to authenticate you. Your name may be used as your public creator name. Cart Otter requests only basic sign-in access, not access to Gmail messages, Drive files, contacts, or calendars.
Why we use it
We use data to manage accounts, publish games, deliver free downloads, record rights declarations, investigate reports, prevent abuse, and respond to requests. We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.
Cookies and technical data
Essential authentication cookies keep you signed in. Hosting providers may process access logs for security and operation. For rate limiting we store a salted fingerprint of the network address supplied by our host. These counters are not used for advertising or profiling.
Browser previews load the game onto your device and run locally. Preview progress is temporary and is not saved to your account. No microphone, camera, or location access is needed to play.
Retention and your choices
We retain account and library data while needed to provide downloads, resolve disputes, maintain rights records, and meet legal obligations. Unlisting a game stops new acquisitions but does not automatically delete previous library entries or declarations. Email us to request access, correction, export, or deletion. We will explain any information that must be retained and why.
Children and changes
This service is for adults 18 and older. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We will date policy updates on this page.
